On the Cusp of Mobile Marketing

eMarketer published an article this week on mobile advertising and how Mobile Ads Might Work with Teens. This story has exciting implications for the future of the portable Internet channel -- an area watched with rapt interest by most marketers working in the electronic frame. According to the article, 27 percent of teen-aged mobile phone users aged 13 to 19 are either “Interested,” “Very Interested,” or “Extremely Interested” in accepting ads on their mobile phones.

Provided that the individuals polled by Harris Interactive are representative of the overall U.S. population, the opportunity suggests an audience of at least 4.32 million mobile teens who are ready and willing to accept ads on their cellular phones today. The time for mobile marketing is now.
